A couple of weeks ago, the story of housing demolition surfaced and the situation remains pathetic.
Kaduna State Government gave 24hrs notice to the residents of Graceland which is situated behind Nigeria College of Aviation Technology Zaria to evacuate the area for any plane crash can happen and endanger people’s lives.
The kaduna State Government issued the notice in order to demolish the houses which has been done. The land in which the houses were built is owned by the Aviation College.
Though, the residents and owners of the houses claimed that they bought the land and the CFO approved by previous administrations with no compensation made before or after demolition. Over 300 houses destroyed that left hundreds of people displaced.
The state government action was Quite objective but the approach was inhuman.
Kaduna State Governor Mal. Nasiru Ahmed Elrufai alias Mai-rusau. Since his inception in the public service, domain got himself has a reputation for demolition of buildings which has brought about urbanization development in the FCT during his time as a Minister. The Mai-Rusau slogan was chanted during his campaigns in 2015. Compensation has been made to almost all owners of the sabotaged buildings as it is believed.
