Former Agric Minister Abba Ruma is Dead
The former minister of Agriculture and Water Resources, Dr Abba Sayyadi Ruma, died Today in a Hospital in London After a prolonged illness. He was said to have battled with diabetes for quite a long time as information gathered by Labaranyau.
Abba Ruma was appointed the minister of Agriculture by Former President of Nigeria Umar Musa Yar’Adua on 26 July 2007, he served in that capacity for a duration of 2 years.
He was the chairman Governing the Council of International Fund for Agricultural Development headquartered in Rome, Italy, and is a Partner Minister of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). He left office in March 2010 when acting president Goodluck Jonathan dissolved his cabinet.
Abba Ruma hailed from Katsina state and died at the age of 59. He left behind two wives and Nine Children.
