Manchester United has been brilliantly performing overall in games played right from the Pre-season to date recording a mark of currently ongoing 7 straight unbeaten runs in all competitions.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo was dropped from the squad entirely for last weekend’s trip to Chelsea after refusing to come on against Tottenham on the Wednesday prior.

Erik ten Hag decided to recall the player to the squad for the game against Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday night and Ronaldo made a goalscoring return, scoring the side’s third in a comprehensive 3-0 victory that secured their path to the next round of the Europa League.

Speaking following Thursday’s victory, Dalot, who has been on the record in the past as admitting his admiration for his compatriot, praised Ronaldo and said that United was better with him than without.

‘We are very happy to have Cristiano, yesterday he scored a goal, this is what he has been doing for 20 years now and every time he is on the pitch and every time he is helping us, we are a better team. We are just happy that he is here,’ the right-back told Sky Sports.

Meanwhile, pressed on what the scope of the conversations had been following the fallout from last week’s refusal to play, Dalot remained tight-lipped over any conversations that might have a place.

‘Obviously, everything that happened is private, we want to keep it inside the locker room. We as a team, this is what should happen.’

Despite securing another impressive win, much of the attention has been focused on Antony’s showboating after the Brazilian exhibited an interesting bit of skill in the Europa League game.

In the first half, Antony received the ball and twirled twice with it glued to his left instep. Spotting a team-mate making a run in the inside right channel, the Brazilian sought to thread a pass through.

The ball went out of play and pundits and supporters alike were left bemused by what many thought to be a pointless bit of skill.

Asked about the skill itself and the backlash that Antony received in the aftermath, Dalot defended his teammate and said that he was just that kind of player.

‘He wants to entertain a little bit. His game, I think it’s part of the way that he plays. And for me, he gets a little bit more time when he gets the ball and for me to try to open spaces with runs, but I mean we’re happy to have Antony with us and he’s a fantastic player.

‘His technique and his dribbling will help us. I mean, there’s always going to be chatter after a mistake, he missed the pass, but if the pass went to Casemiro then he was in a good position to assist or score a goal so I just think it’s normal after he missed a pass.

‘I don’t think we should focus too much on what he did, it’s just part of his game and we’re happy to have a player like him.’
