Chelsea and Barcelona Pull Off Stunning Swap Deal | Aubameyang In, Alonso Out
It’s official. Chelsea and Barcelona just pulled off what many call the cleanest and most strategic swap deal of 2022.
As the transfer window inches towards closing, talks that once dragged on have suddenly turned into sealed handshakes. And at the center of this buzz?
Two European heavyweights, Barcelona and Chelsea, are finally finding common ground.

Here’s how it played out:
Barcelona snatched Chelsea’s left-back, Marcos Alonso, on a 3-year contract. In return, Chelsea got what they’ve been chasing for weeks, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Blues also topped it with a €14 million fee as part of the deal.
It’s wild when you think about it. Aubameyang only just left Arsenal for Barcelona not long ago.
But Thomas Tuchel wasn’t letting up. He kept pushing, gently but firmly, until Barca finally agreed to his terms.
Tuchel needed a clinical finisher who could shake up his attacking line. And Aubameyang?
He ticks the boxes: speed, precision, and experience in the Premier League.
Right now, Aubameyang is scheduled to land in London around 5 p.m. to complete a two-year deal with an option for a third.
At the same time, Alonso is already in Spain, undergoing his medicals and preparing to sign on the dotted line.
Just like that, both clubs got what they wanted. And fans? They’ve got something to talk about.
