The New National Counter Terrorism Centre in Nigeria
Nigeria now has a National Counter Terrorism Centre(NCTC). It’s one of provisions of the Terrorism (Prevention & Prohibition) Act 2022, as assented to by Pres. Buhari in May 2022. The President has also appointed Rear Admiral Yaminu Ehinomen Musa(Rtd) as pioneer Coordinator, NCTC
According to the new Terrorism Act 2022, NCTC “shall be the coordinating body for counter-terrorism & terrorism financing in Nigeria, charged with the coordination of counter-terrorism policies, strategies, plans, and support in the performance of the functions of the NSA…”
