Increased immorality: Governor Bala Mohammed frowns at Bauchi Hisbah
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has expressed his disappointment with the State Hisbah Board’s incapacity to handle the growing immorality and antisocial conduct affecting the attitudes of youngsters and children across the state.
To that aim, he promised to reposition the Board in a way that would allow competent individuals to carry out its functions efficiently.
The Governor announced while speaking to a gathering of Chief Imams from various Juma’at Mosques in Bauchi Metropolis.
Bala Mohammed further stated that arrangements are underway to designate Senior Special Assistants from various Islamic and Christian organizations to support the government’s commitment to societal reorientation.
While expressing concern with the manner in which certain clergy members speak, which has the potential to incite public disruption, the Governor urged religious leaders to use their knowledge to spread the true teachings of the religion.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the state commissioner Ministry of Religious Affairs Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza, who stated that they were at the government House to congratulate the government on its recent Supreme Court victory, described the move to reposition the Hisbah Board as a step in the right direction.
He also assured the Ministry’s commitment to supplement the Governor’s efforts to address all sorts of aberrant behavior.
