The attack occurred late at night on February 4, 2023, between 11 pm and midnight, when heavily armed assailants invaded the area, opening fire indiscriminately on innocent residents.

Pwamwakeno Mackondo, Deputy Speaker of the Adamawa House of Assembly and representative of the Numan constituency, confirmed the fatalities and described the situation as dire.
“The people of Numan have suffered too much. These attacks have gone on for far too long. It’s time for the military to adopt a more aggressive stance in protecting our communities,” Mackondo stressed.
He also called for legal action against suspected herders, often linked to violent clashes in the region, urging security agencies to intensify efforts to curb the escalating violence.
