Abducted Professors Of UNIABUJA And Four Others Released

Six victims abducted from the University of Abuja in the Federal Capital Territory have been rescued, this was three days after the attack in the University staff quarters in Gwagwalada Area Council.

The victims were rescued by a group of joint special operatives from various agencies as stated by the FCT Police Command spokesman Josephine Adeh on Friday, she said:

“The Federal Capital Territory Police Command wishes to inform members of the public that all abducted victims of the University of Abuja were rescued and reunited with their families through a joint operation with other security agencies,”.

The ASSU Chairman of UNIABUJA Chapter, Dr Kasim Umar, confirmed that there was nothing concerning ransom or such involved.

The incident occurred around 1 am on Tuesday, gunmen forces their way through windows into the houses of senior staffs in the university staff quarters and abduct them.

Operation lasted for over two hours as said by eyewitness, and houses were thoroughly disorganized looking around the scene after the operation, the gunmen ended up abducting 3 senior staffs and three other housemates.
