The Super Eagles placed second in the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), hosted by Côte d’Ivoire.

All of the team members, dressed in green, and officials were present, including Alex Iwobi, who had experienced internet attacks following Nigeria’s defeat to Cote d’Ivoire in the final of the just concluded African Cup of Nations.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu praised the team, the coach, the crew, and the entire management team for their hard work, dedication, and sacrifice in getting this far in the tournament, acknowledging the obstacles they overcame with steadily improving performance as they advanced to the finals.

The President had advised Nigerians to be cheerful, emphasizing that our bravery, rigor, and commitment on the field earned us a big win in the hearts of Africa and the globe.

“Let this passing occurrence not discourage us, but rather bring us together to strive harder. We are a magnificent nation united under the green-white-green banner of resilience, joy, hope, duty, and unwavering love.

“To those cherished Nigerian youths expressing their gifts in communities, putting lines in the sand while playing football in their tiny rectangles of play, you can be our heroes tomorrow; do not give up. “My administration is here to make dreams come true,” the president declared.
