Spokes H was a South African musician, composer, and songwriter who was born on March 29, 1968. In the latter part of the 1980s, he gained popularity with the songs Under Control and Tamatie So. Later on, he released more hit songs, including Mohla ke tsamayang, Ba ntebetse, Rabaki, and Peace Magnets.

Spokes H was awarded the SAMA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018 after his passing. He went by Letona Spokes Hlatshwayo in real life.

Spokes H Early Life

On March 29, 1968, Letona Spokes Hlatshwayo gave birth to Spokes H. In the 1980s, he became well-known thanks to hits like Tamatisous. Mohlopheki Msene, his elder brother, and Samuel Mfene are his two known siblings.

Spokes H Career

Popular songs like Tamatisous are what made the late vocalist most famous. He kept dropping hits like Rabaki and Peace Magnets in the 1990s. His humorous and disrespectful lyrics are what South Africans associate with him.

In June 2018, he was given a Sama Lifetime Achievement Award at Sun City, North West, by President Cyril Ramaphosa and Nathi Mthethwa.

After accepting the prize, his mother Jane Mfene enthralled television viewers with her acceptance speech.

Spokes H Personal Life

Neo, Mahlatse, and Karabo were the three baby moms and kids that Spokes H had. Neo, his oldest child, was raised by his first baby mom Jeanet Mamba of Tafelkop, Groblersdal, Limpopo.

According to Jeanet, the singer’s mother hoped to inherit everything after he died in 2013.

Together, the baby moms had developed a strong bond and divided insurance money and royalties among the children. Karabo’s mother, Puseletso Phatlane, is his other baby mama.

Spokes H Cause of Death

The renowned musician Spokes H was brought to the hospital due to a condition involving elevated blood pressure.

His condition worsened, and on July 23, 2013, at the Kopanong Hospital in Vereeniging, he passed away from the illness. He passed away at 45.

Spokes H’s health declined till the illness claimed his life after he was brought to the hospital for a high blood pressure-related illness. He received a posthumous “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the South African Music Awards (SAMA) in 2018. May he rest in peace, his soul.
