Shaydee’s Early life and education
Shaydee is the second of four children born to parents who were born in the historic city of Kano, Kano State, Northern Nigeria. At a young age, he moved to Lagos from Kano with his family. After completing his IJMB studies at Kogi State Polytechnic, he went to the University of Ilorin, where he completed his studies in Electrical Engineering and graduated.
Shaydee Career
Shaydee moved to Lagos from Kano and began singing in high school with a friend. “Love Me Like U Used 2” and “Hands in the Air” are two of the songs he released after inking a recording deal with Cackland Records in 2010. Shaydee was featured by MI on the song “Pain” from his Illegal Music II mixtape in April 2012.
Shaydee got a recording contract with Empire Mates Entertainment on June 11, 2012, which marked a significant turning point in his career. He is frequently acknowledged as having contributed to and featured on a few tracks from EME’s 2012 compilation album Empire Mates State of Mind. Since then, Shaydee has collaborated with a number of artists, including Ice Prince, Seyi Shay, Skales, Cynthia Morgan, and Legendury Beatz. Using Wizkid as a producer, Shaydee and Legendury Beatz released a freestyle named “Won Gbo Mi” on November 16, 2013. “Won Gbo Mi” was well-received by reviewers and music enthusiasts alike, topping regional music charts across the nation. Jassy Generation, the song’s director, shot the music video in Lagos. On June 11, 2014, the video-sharing website YouTube debuted.
On September 10, 2014, Shaydee and Metro Cab, a cab service provider with operations in Nigeria, inked an endorsement agreement. Shaydee dropped a single called “High” on March 18, 2015, and the song got him nominated for a 2015 Headies award. Shaydee was also a nominee for the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards’ “Best R&B Artist of the Year” category. It has been rumored that Shaydee is working on his debut studio album, SOS, which was supposed to be released in 2016.
