Describe yourself briefly for us

I’m Aishatu Auwalu, better known as Rahma MK. In Kaduna’s Shika Development Area, Giwa Local Government Area is where I was born.

My spouse and I have three kids. In addition to being an actress, I hold a diploma and work for Kano State’s Ministry of Education.

How did you enter the Industry?

Most reporters ask me this question all the time. Seeing movies piqued my interest in performing.

When I chatted with my mother’s sister afterward, she promised to look into things for me.

We noticed a scene being shot while we were walking by “gidan dan Hausa.” I made contact with a few of the producers and directors, and as a result, I started receiving calls for movie roles.

What is the length of your career in this field, and do you recall your very first camera scene?

In the film industry, I have worked for more than 11 years. On my first day on the set, I was overjoyed.

Being a member of the cast delighted me.

I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to read the lines smoothly when I heard the “action” call, but I did just fine.

My performance was applauded by the production team. I was deemed good by the directors.

How many movies have you been in so far?

I’m not sure how many there are, but I’m thinking there might be more than 200.

How did you land the part of First Lady in “Kwana Casa’in”? Did you try out for it?

If I was interested in “Kwana Casa’in,” I was instructed to send my resume. I passed the audition after I was called for one after submitting it.

What aspect of “Kwana Casa’in” appeals to you the most?

Being able to govern on one’s terms and as governor is a lovely experience for a woman. I was thrilled to see that I had won the governorship in the script.

Which scene from “Kwana Casa’in” excites you the most?

I was talking to Auta Baita in one of the scenes. Normally, I wouldn’t address him by name, but after learning of the murders occurring just to advance my political career, I informed him, “Auta Baita, if these murders and acts of brutality are all to further my political career, I’m done running.”

The reason I am most pleased about this scene is that Hajiya Rabi is a person who realizes her shortcomings and feels regret for them.

How did you get your husband to let you carry on with your acting career?

Thank God my spouse recognizes that acting is just another occupation a woman can pursue to support herself.

I showed him pictures of working women in the police, physicians, and banking industries. He gave in to my pleas that I be allowed to pursue my job.

My spouse and I have been married for two years, and I believe it is OK that he has permitted me to pursue my work.

Before you were married, did you place any restrictions on your husband?

In a marriage, a male has greater influence over a woman. I didn’t impose any restrictions on him.

He agreed when I also told him that I wanted to pursue my career.

His sole requirement was that I remain chaste during my profession, just as I did before marriage. Furthermore, this seems more like a suggestion than a requirement to me.

When you’re on location, how do you tend to your husband’s needs?

He would be aware of my plans in advance whenever I went out. I take care of him first, and after he leaves, I get ready and head out to where I am.

Since I’m married, I obviously won’t remain late and will have to leave early to go home.

How do you look after your family and kids?

A lady becomes a mother at that point. Before a woman is referred to as a mother, she must be able to care for her children, her husband, her home, and herself.

Mothers are among the women. I was already employed by the government and a mother of two. It felt normal to get pregnant again and carry on with my work. I approach work in the same manner as I approach filming.

How did you work during your pregnancy?

I believe a pregnant woman should be able to carry on with her regular work if there are no unanticipated circumstances. Since I didn’t suffer from any pregnancy-related illnesses, I was able to carry on with my work as usual.

Now that you have a young child to look after, how is your career going?

My nanny is here. I look after my kid during my break and hand her over to her babysitter so I can get to work.

What kind of assistance does your spouse offer you?

Nothing in a marriage can function without the assistance of a husband. A wife who doesn’t have support from her husband will never be able to advance in her career, let alone become a professional who works long hours or even spends days away from home.

Nothing will happen to the man if he doesn’t make any sacrifices. I give thanks to God for my wonderful hubby and his support.

When are you going to stop acting?

As of right now, I have no idea; I will keep acting. Maybe until all of my opportunities are gone. I’m confident that my chance would have expired even if my spouse had stopped me in the future.
