My name is Yusuf Muhammad Abdullahi popularly known as Saseen.
I was born in Kano, I attended Makama Primary School in the City Local Government.
From there I went to New Door Junior High School and after I finished I went to Rumfa Senior High School from there I went to Bayero University, where I did a Diploma in Crime Management.
Later I returned to Benue State; I studied Diploma in Business at the College of Arts and Technology in Gboko town.
After I finished I went to the Republic of Benin; I graduated in Business at Sainte Felicite University in Porto Nobo.
When did you start your film career?
I started working in the film industry in November 2017, but since I was a child, I wanted to become a filmmaker because it is one of the professions that make a poor man a king and it is a path that one should seek. Its legality is easy.
What was your first film, and who directed the film?
The first movie I appeared in was the movie ‘CIKI DA MAGANA’ which is a movie by Ibrahim Birniwa. But it was a special exit I made in it because I finally exited in music. Sanusi Oscar gave instructions.
The movie that I know I have done and when I started going out is the movie ‘CHAMFI’ which is a movie by Nazifi Asnanic and directed by Ibrahim Bala who also took responsibility is Sani Mai Iyali, then and the movie Humaira.
Apart from these films, are there any others you have done?
Yes, I have made at least 20 movies. Among those who have appeared are “Camfi”, “Wa Nake So”, and “Auren Kdadara”, and the series of Arewa 24 (Series) of Ninety Days, in which M.D. Faruk appeared.
Then there is one I made for the Series, but he hasn’t come out yet and is on his way. It is Aminu Saira’s story and he is the one who gave the instructions in it, almost all the time I did it with Camfi.
What level do you want to reach in this film industry?
I want to see that I have taken many steps, but in fact, I want to see that I have played a big role in this profession so that I will also have the opportunity to give my kind contribution that will benefit society as a whole.
What challenges do you see the Kannywood Industry facing?
The industry is facing many challenges but the most obvious one is the lack of unity and vision.
What advice do you have for fellow professionals seeing how there is disagreement among the big heroes among them?
There is a lack of leadership, there should be brave leaders who are not biased.
Is there any appeal you would make to the government to enter the film industry?
It is appropriate for the government to intervene in the affairs of the filmmakers. Because she is the only one who can protect us and set us on our culture and religion and the kind of messages we are sending to the community.
A Kannywood figure has called on President Buhari to give ministerial positions to filmmakers in recognition of their contributions in the previous elections or do you support that?
I am very supportive because this is what will bring us more unity and improve our business so that it will gain value all over the world.
Do you have a message for your loved ones?
My beloved, I am grateful to you and I ask you to continue to pray for us, may God set us on the right path.
