Khadijatul Iman Sani Danja: My dream is to become a pilot
Khadijatul Iman Sani Danja is just 16 years old, yet she has already established herself as a household figure in Kannywood, the Hausa-dominated entertainment industry.
This upcoming actress discusses how she got started, her roles, and other topics in this brief conversation with Labaranyau.
How It All Began
She began performing at the age of 11 months, citing the fact that her mother, Mansura Isah, and father, Sani Danja, are well-known actors and actresses who have had a significant impact on the entertainment business.
Sani Danja relocated to Abuja when the Kano state government, led by Governor Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, put considerable pressure on some of them in the name of Sharia compliance.
Lead roles.
Khadijatul Iman just landed a main role in the powerful Hausa film Akeelah, which is presently playing in cinemas across the North. It was created by her mother, Mansura.
You just finished watching the film Akeelah, which was created by your mother, Mansura, and is being shown in a cinema at Ado Bayero Shopping Mall; what are your thoughts on it?
I am overjoyed, especially after seeing the role I played in the film, even though I am only eleven years old.
One thing that made me happier was that I watched the film with my parents, even though other Kannywood stakeholders came and watched it with their children who are also actors, and after the film, they were all over me, making me proud of myself and my parents.
Is this your first film, and what is its focus? I mean, what does it hope to accomplish?
To be honest, my father and mother, Sani Danja and Mansura Isah, are well-known actors and actresses who have traveled much; so, the film focuses on how to preserve a successful unified home.
Perhaps they are challenging me on how to run a family when I reach adulthood, much as my mother used to challenge me to read hard, graduate, and be profoundly devout by paying attention to my Qur’anic education.
So, I saw the film as a direct challenge to me, because I appear in it alongside all of my brothers and sisters, which is a very interesting film, to say the least; however, I had to put in a lot of effort to make it a success because the filming was boring.
How many films have you appeared in so far?
My parents began presenting me in films when I was 11 months old, and I have since been in several films. After that, I disappeared to focus on my studies, but recently, I, along with Ali Nuhu’s son Ahmed Nuhu, produced or rather appeared in a successful film titled Buri Uku A Duniya, and the next is the one we’re talking about, Akeelah.
Will you pursue full-time acting after graduation?
No, I enjoy difficulties and travel; therefore, I want to be a pilot; I will travel outside of the country, enroll in one of the greatest aviation universities, and graduate as a pilot.
However, if it is destiny that I become an actor, then be it; after all, both my mother and father work in the entertainment sector and are extremely successful.
They met in Kannywood, fell in love, and married, and their marriage has now lasted over ten years, as you can see; I am eleven years old.
So, this is to remove the myth that Kannywood actors and actresses are all school dropouts who like drug use.
What is your reaction to the rumor that your parents are grooming you to marry Ali Nuhu’s son, Ahmad?
Long laugh… Ba Gaskiya bane, our parents are family friends, and their bond is so deep that people are speculating about what you are alleging.
Ahmad is like a blood brother to me; my father, Sani Danja, and Ali Nuhu, are both accomplished in their jobs, and people can conjecture, but there is nothing like that.
