Meet Sunusi Muhammad Sunusi: The Teenage Tech Prodigy from Katsina State
Sunusi Muhammad Sunusi, also known as Sunusie Saulawa, is a rising Nigerian tech developer from Katsina State.
Having recently completed his secondary school education with an outstanding WAEC result, Sunusi’s passion for innovation and technology has already set him apart nationally.
In 2022, he was selected for the NITDA Blockchain Scholarship, a landmark initiative launched under the leadership of Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, aimed at training one million developers across Nigeria.
The scholarship focuses on equipping young talents with the knowledge and tools to thrive in blockchain and emerging technologies.
A Tech Journey That Began Early
Sunusi’s journey into tech began as far back as 2012, when he was just a child.
Despite limited resources, he successfully developed a mini DC generator that operates without fuel and has the capability of powering basic light bulbs, an invention that drew attention to his raw innovation potential.
His early interest in electrical systems and energy efficiency hinted at a bigger vision, one he continues to pursue with unmatched determination.
Vision for the Future | Robotics and Counterterrorism
Beyond energy innovations, Sunusi has set his sights on robotics and drone development. His dream? To design intelligent machines that can support Nigeria’s fight against terrorism.
His belief is that locally developed robotic solutions and surveillance drones can strengthen national security efforts, especially in conflict-prone regions.
