Manchester City Ready To Splash €100m+ on Shakhtar Donetsk Star Mykhaylo Mudryk
Manchester City is gearing up for another major move, and this time, it’s Shakhtar Donetsk’s flying winger Mykhaylo Mudryk in their sights.
According to Shakhtar’s deputy sporting director, Carlo Nicolini, Chelsea and Arsenal, too, have shown serious interest in the 21-year-old sensation, who’s been on fire this season.
Mudryk has already bagged six goals and seven assists, lighting up the Champions League with memorable strikes against RB Leipzig and Celtic.
His brilliant solo goal at Parkhead earlier this week, which officially knocked Celtic out of Europe, turned plenty of heads. And now, the sharks are circling.
Nicolini made it clear: whoever wants Mudryk will have to come with a heavy offer.
In fact, Shakhtar values him higher than Manchester United‘s Antony, who was signed for a whopping €100m.
Speaking to Calciomercato about growing interest, especially from Italian clubs, Nicolini didn’t mince his words:
“The headlights are on him, but the Italians always arrive late. It’s easy to notice him now, but where were they before? Italians come with low bids, we don’t even sit down for those.”
He also hinted that the serious bidders are mostly English, Spanish, and French clubs.
When pressed about Mudryk’s price tag, Nicolini was firm:
“Is €40m enough? No. Not even €50m. We don’t even bother informing the president about such offers. We value Mudryk more than Antony.
If you want a player who can make the difference at a top club, you have to pay the right money.”
In short, Shakhtar is under no pressure to sell.
But if City, or anyone else, wants to snatch away one of the most explosive young wingers in Europe, they better be ready to crack open the vault.

Why City Want Mudryk and How He Fits Into Guardiola’s Plans
Manchester City’s interest in Mykhaylo Mudryk stems from their need to strengthen their attacking options with a dynamic, versatile winger who can contribute both goals and assists.
The Ukrainian star’s ability to create opportunities and perform in high-pressure situations, like his stunning solo goal against Celtic, has made him a top target for City’s recruitment team.
Mudryk’s speed, technical ability, and creativity make him a perfect fit for Pep Guardiola’s tactical system, which relies heavily on fluid attacking play and wide players who can stretch the opposition.
His direct running style and exceptional dribbling skills would complement the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish, adding another dimension to City’s already potent attacking lineup.
Moreover, Mudryk’s high work rate and adaptability make him an ideal candidate for Guardiola’s rotation-heavy approach.
Whether playing as an inverted winger or cutting inside to support the striker, Mudryk could slot seamlessly into various roles within City’s fluid, possession-based setup.
With the club’s long-term vision to continue dominating both domestically and internationally, adding Mudryk would be a strategic move to maintain their competitive edge in the coming seasons.
