Sha’aban was born in Kano, Nigeria, on January 1, 1982. He grew up in the Sharada neighborhood of Kano Municipal Local Government Area and went to Salamta Primary School as well as Government Secondary Sharada. At Bayero University in Kano, he earned his first degree in mass communication.

Sha’aban began his political career in 2009 while still an undergraduate student when he ran for the position of National Publicity Secretary of the National Association of Kano State Students Association. In 2016, President Muhammad Buhari first appointed Sha’aban to the position of Personal Assistant to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. In the 2019 general elections in Nigeria, Sha’aban won a seat in the Nigerian House of Representatives to represent the Kano Municipal Federal constituency.
He now serves as the chairman of the National Security and Intelligence Committee of the House of Representatives. He is now running for governor of Kano state in the ADP party’s 2023 election for governor of Kano state.

Hon. Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada, a candidate for governor from the Kano Action Democratic Party, was born on February 12th, 1984 in Sharada Quarters of the Municipal Local Government Area of Kano State.
Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada received his primary education at Salanta Primary School and completed his secondary school at Government Technical College Kano.
From 2007 to 2011, he attended Bayero University, Kano, BUK, where he earned his first degree in mass communication.
Between 2019 and 2020, Sha’aban will complete a Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership at the London Graduate School in the United Kingdom.

Sha’aban hosted the political shows “Romon Dimokradiyya” and “Siyasa A yau,” which covered a variety of political events in Nigeria and overseas.
He broadcast political rallies in real time and conducted interviews with various state and national party chairmen, former presidents, governors, ministers, and diplomats from Nigeria and other countries.
Sharada served as President Muhammadu Buhari’s personal assistant for broadcast media from 2015 until 2019, when he ran for and won the post of member of the House of Representatives for the Kano Municipal Federal Constituency. He is currently the chairman of the committee on national security and intelligence.
By starting a radio program to summarize the activities of Mr. President to close the communication gap with Nigerians, Sha’aban assumed control of the first media image projection program for the APC as well as the activities of President Buhari in the 19 northern states.
Additionally, he serves as the Network of African Parliamentarians for Defense and Security Committees’ president general.
Under the APC banner, he ran in the primary election for the governorship of Kano State and finished in second place.
Later, under intense pressure from Kano residents, he joined the Action Democratic Party, where he won the party’s nomination to run for governor on its platform. Muhammadu Buhari, the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, also awarded him the national honor of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
His interest in leadership first became apparent while he was the Kano Youth Promotion Council’s publicity secretary, then as the Pioneer Vice Chairman of the Sharada Youth Progressive Association, the Pioneer Treasurer of the Freedom Radio Chapter of the Radio Television Theatre and Art Workers Union of Nigeria, and finally as the Kano State Publicity Secretary of the RATTAWU.
