Ogla Karani: Raila Odinga has never wanted to be President

Raila Odinga never desired to be president of Kenya, according to former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Treasurer Ogla Karani.

Speaking on NTV’s Front & Centre show, which is chaired by Ben Kitili, Karani claimed that the ODM party leader had everything in place in 2022 to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta as president but fell short of the mark.

According to Karani, Raila Odinga disregarded all advice and red flag warnings from his top advisors, which caused Azimio Coalition to lose an election that it should have won.

For many years, Karani has been among Raila Odinga’s most ardent followers, even after the Kalenjin vote blocs switched from the ODM to William Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party.

Raila Odinga proposed Olga Karani in 2016 to serve on the IEBC select committee that chose the commissioners appointed to take the place of those who left following the 2013 elections. President Uhuru Kenyatta selected Olga to the position of Chairperson of the Kenya Cultural Center following their 2018 handshake.

However, following the 2022 elections, which were won by President William of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, she split from the leader of Azimio La Umoja.
