Born in Kibiti, in the Pwani Region of Tanzania, Mbwana Yusuf Kilungi (born October 3, 1991), better known by his stage name Mbosso Khan, is a singer and songwriter presently residing in Dar es Salaam. He has a record deal with WCB Wasafi. Popular songs by Mbosso include “Nadekezwa” and “Hodari,” which were awarded Video of the Year at the 2019 HiPipo Awards. Definition of Love, Mbosso’s debut studio album, was released in March 2021.

Mbosso, who is associated with WCB Wasafi, the record company established by Diamond Platnumz, has established a noteworthy reputation. From 2013 to 2015, he played with three other members of the Yamoto Band before starting his successful solo career.

During this time, Mbosso and the Yamoto Band performed under the stage name Maromboso. They were quite successful and won the prestigious Kilimanjaro Music Award for Best Band of the Year in 2015. Nevertheless, the group broke up later that year despite their successes.

From 2013 until 2015, he began his musical career as one of the four members of Yamoto Band. “Maromboso” was his stage name at the time. The ensemble won the Kilimanjaro Music Awards’ Best Band of 2015 category. Later, in 2015, the musical group called it quits.

Mbosso relaunched his solo career in 2018 after signing with Diamond Platinumz’s record label, WCB Wasafi. There, he released songs including “Maajabu,” “Picha Yake,” “Tamu,” and “Tamba”.

Mbosso became one of just four Tanzanian musicians with over a million YouTube subscribers in 2020 when he crossed the one million subscriber mark. He received the Golden Plaque on YouTube.

Mbosso’s first studio album, “Definition of Love,” was published in 2021. Artists including Diamond Platnumz, Njenje Band, Mr. Flavour, Rayvanny, Liya, Darassa, Spice Diana, and Baba Levo were among those included on the album, which was released on March 9.

The 32-year-old Mbosso wed Boss Martha in 2017, and the two had a son together during that time. Sadly, in 2019 Boss Martha became ill and died, leaving Mbosso abandoned and alone. The comedienne Boss Martha, the mother of one of the singer’s children, passed away in 2019.

As a devout Muslim, Mbosso is allowed to have up to four wives. He is currently the father of three children by various women. Sadly, one of his baby mothers passed away, while the other one now lives in Mombasa, Kenya. The mother of his third child is from Tanzania.

Mbosso and Rukia Rucky received their son, Iqram Khan Jr., with delight in 2019. Mbosso had three children by 2020 from three separate mothers. Mbosso once said that having 15 to 20 women in his life would be ideal, although his Islamic beliefs only permit four wives.
