Lekan Osifeso Jr., often known as Lojay, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer who was born on April 28, 1996. With the help of Chris Brown and Sarz, his single “Monalisa” peaked at number eight on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs list. He also has the most played afrobeat song on Shazam, according to NotJustOk and Cool FM Nigeria. He received a nomination for the 2022 Headies Award for Next Rated Artist.

Lojay’s Early life and background
In 2018, he received his degree from the University of Portsmouth, UK. After residing in Ikorodu, his family moved to Victoria Island in Lagos. Since he was young, Lekan has had a strong aptitude for music. He was a member of the local rap group Dkoy while attending Nigerian Turkish Secondary School in Nigeria during his secondary education. He released singles like Kilode while he was in Dkoy. Throughout his early years, Osifeso’s family routinely attended church because his mother was a preacher. Chris Brown was one of his favorite musicians when he was younger.
Lojay Career
“Lekan Osifeso Junior” (LO-J), the initial initials of Lojay’s entire name, is shortened to his stage name. As a teenager, he had an interest in singing and music. and throughout his adolescent years followed his interest. He is versatile in his choice of music, moving between different genres. During a Nataal interview, he stated
“I don’t belong to any one genre, and I won’t put myself in one just because that’s what people think of me. However, if someone wants to put me in a box, by all means, do so. You can call it anything you wish, as long as you are connecting and jamming to the gbedu (song). I don’t think anyone should fight me if I rock tomorrow.”
He began performing professionally in 2016 while still an undergraduate, working part-time, and after graduating, he turned his full attention to music. Five tracks made up Lojay’s debut EP, Midnight Vibes, which was released in December 2017. The tracks on the EP are titled Whine & Bubble, 10K Splaw, Kele, Atarodo, and Alomo.
“Ariel” is a single he released in 2019; “Ogogoro” is another song he released in 2020. Lojay released multiple tracks between his first foray into the music industry in 2016 and the release of his breakthrough hits in 2021, including Along, Kuli Kuli, and Over the Bar, among others.
His second EP, LV N ATTN (stylized from Love and Attention), a duet EP with producer Sarz, was released in May 2021. It was a five-track EP that featured two of his biggest hits from earlier that year, “Tonongo” and “Monalisa,” which he later remixed with Chris Brown.
In addition, he released LV N ATTN, a song that shares the same name as the EP and features Wizkid. Panty! and Park O X3 are the titles of the other two tunes. The corpus of work led to a nomination for the 2021–2022 Headies award for the next rated artist. DJ Neptune included him and Zlatan Ibile in the song “Only Fan” in November 2021.
He participated in the Heineken UEFA Champions League trophy tour to Nigeria in 2022.
Gangster Romantic, Lojay’s second solo EP, was released in March 2023. Later that month, “Monalisa” received a Silver certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
Lojay Personal Life
Lojay would have turned 26 on April 28. He resides in a wealthy neighborhood of Lagos and is the proud owner of an exotic automobile and an excellent condominium. His management is currently under Anthony Egwu’s direction.
When he’s not on the road, making appearances at events, or in the studio recording music, he hangs out with his close friends and family. Lojay has signed with Metallic Music/1789, a musical label based in Lagos.
