Lara Stone Early life
Stone was raised in the Dutch town of Mierlo after being born in Geldrop. Her father Michael Stone is English, while her mother Kathryna is Dutch. When she was 12 and on vacation with her family, she was found in the Paris Metro. Breakthrough: 2006–2008
Stone joined IMG Models globally in 2006 after quitting Elite. During Paris Fashion Week in January, she made her catwalk debut in Riccardo Tisci’s Givenchy couture shows. She also signed an exclusive contract with Calvin Klein later that year. In March 2007, Stone was the subject of a Vogue Paris spread and graced the cover in April. Stone stated that the runway does not appeal to her and that her extremely small feet for someone of her size prevent her from wearing shoes in the February 2009 issue of Vogue Paris, which featured Stone on the cover.
