John Blaq’s Early life and education
For the Primary Leaving Examination, John Blaq attended Hasan Tourabi Primary School and Lwanda Primary School. He enrolled in Bweyogerere Secondary School in 2012, and in 2016 and 2018, he received his UCE and UACE certificates, respectively.
John Blaq Musical Career
John Blaq’s song “Tukwatagane” became his breakthrough in 2018. Released in December 2018, “Sweet Love” marked his debut collaboration with Vinka. His first performance called the Aya Basi Concert after his catchphrase aya Basi, took place in Freedom City, Kampala on November 29, 2019.
Although John is a rapper, he doesn’t perform hip-hop because he’s heard that the genre didn’t perform well or generate much revenue in Uganda.
“I knew what the market wanted, and since hip-hop wasn’t doing well, it was hard to make money from it.” “I chose the trend because I can do both dancehall and raga, but I’m most passionate about hip-hop, which I do for fun,” John Blaq remarked.
His first song, “More Fire,” was recorded in the Buddies studio with renowned Ugandan producer Andy Music. Following that, he worked on Tukwatagane, his second hit song that became quite popular in Uganda.
He claimed that the reason for his fans’ amazing response was that they liked every song he released. His name quickly spread, and he was able to land significant sponsorship deals.
He continues to believe that his breakthrough resulted from his extreme patience and focus, as well as from praying to God and surrounding himself with kind people who encouraged him and prevented him from making unnecessary mistakes.
Aya Baasi, he claims, is his trademark as he used it every time he entered the studio to record a song because it functions similarly to a start button. Though people enjoyed it, he would say it as if it were nothing. It’s now his go-to phrase.
The late Mowzey Radio, whose real name was Moses Nakintije Ssekibogo, is the source of inspiration for John Blaq. His voice was incredible, and his lyrics were quite mature. It was the late Mowzey that ignited his musical nerves and propelled him into the industry.

John Kasadha, sometimes known as John Blaq, is a well-known Afrobeat, rap, and dancehall performer from Uganda. He gained popularity in 2018 with the smash song “Tukwatagane,” and he followed it up with a number-one joint track with Vinka called “Sweet Love.”
