Amina Uba Hassan Early Life and Career Background
I was raised in Kaduna State, where I also went to polytechnic, elementary, and secondary education. I presently attend Nassarawa State University, Keffi as an undergraduate studying business administration, and I have a diploma. As a divorcee, I have one child.
How did you begin your acting career?
In the beginning, I wrote and performed music, particularly political music. But later on, I happened to meet a Nollywood actor at a movie set, and it was him who gave me the idea to start acting.
What seemed like a trial at first turned into something I like doing.
To tell the truth, I never imagined that I could be an actor that many people would find admirable based on the roles I portrayed, but my little experience in the business before getting married truly brought out my inner artist.
How did your marriage turn out?
My marriage did not have the desired outcome. Actor Adam A. Zango from Kannywood and I were married in 2007; we had a boy in 2008. Sadly, the marriage disintegrated five months after the boy was born.
Following my failed marriage, I chose to pursue other interests while keeping a low profile until recently, when I decided to follow my goals once more, which is how I ended up appearing in the television series “Gidan Danja.”
Was it simple to make a successful comeback in the field?
To tell the truth, it wasn’t at all simple. You see, one has to exercise extreme caution if they are from this area.
Making decisions as a mother and a divorcee requires extra caution.
Thank God, I’ve had several consultations and have been given the all-clear to attempt it again.
I am grateful to 2Effects for providing me with this opportunity to demonstrate my value in the film industry.
After more than ten years away, it is incredibly challenging for a mother and divorcee to successfully reenter the field.
Acting is what I love to do and will continue to do.
Now that you are employed in the same field, how do you and your ex-husband get along?
We are still friendly with each other. He was the first person I spoke with when I was planning to return to the film industry, and he gave me some very helpful advice.
Although he is my ex-husband, we still need to make an effort to raise our child well. Nothing more than pals, that’s all.
I thus requested his counsel, which he kindly offered me and is essential to my acting career.
Can you both appear in the same movie as your ex-husband?
Why not? We work together for a living, so instead of us being an ex-couple, he will be cast as Adam A. Zango and I as Amina.
I can thus act in the same movie as him without any hesitation since I see nothing wrong with it.
Do you have any other projects in the works besides “Gidan Danja”?
Indeed! Recently, I received a call about a new project that the producers wanted me to work on.
Although “Gidan Danja” is the project I am working on right now, I have additional projects planned.
Could you list a few difficulties you encountered?
People thought I was someone above acting with concern for my origins because of how highly they regarded me in society.
Before his passing, my father was a brigadier general. People therefore saw my social standing as superior to my professional status.
Some people insisted that I should pursue Nollywood rather than Kannywood. One of the issues that truly bothered me was this one.
I want people to understand that, despite my differences from other artists in the business, I am just myself.
Being a mother and the ex-wife of a coworker in the same field presents additional difficulties.
Thank God, though, I am progressively conquering all those obstacles.
I understand that there are many different kinds of challenges in life.
What is the most treasured memory you have as an actress?
the regard I receive from my coworkers, the actors, the staff, and everyone else important in the business.
I’m highly respected in the profession, and I feel the same way about them.
The admiration I receive from individuals who are far superior to me is something I will always treasure.
How do you feel about the claim that actors and actresses are criminals?
This is merely an overstated claim made by those who are ignorant of the field.
There are good people and terrible people in any career, therefore generalizing about the field as a whole is not guaranteed.
As a result, I don’t think that either male or female artists are the targets of such claims.
Will you carry on acting once you are married?
No, several reasons prevent that from happening. Nevertheless, I’ve started the process of turning my passion into a career: film directing and producing.
Once I get married, I’ll be able to pursue both of those interests, which I think will help with those reasons.
Do you currently have a committed relationship?
yes I do
