Why are you called Ali Dawayya? Are you related to Rukayya Dawayya?

The reason why it is said that we are Ali Dawayya is that there is a movie called ‘Miras A Jo’s’, a movie by the company ‘Almah Production’. Then Ali Nuhu said, “You are going back and forth and refuse to stay, this is your Dawayya, the name of a movie, Iyan Tama is about to start”.

He was the one who burst out laughing and then when I came to pass by the location, there was a lot of shouting and it was said; “Dawayya”, when I turned around, there was silence, if I started to say that I don’t like the name, it will become a joke, but I have no relationship with Rukayya Dawayya, except through heaven, and the same religion.

Can you tell the readers a little about your history?

I was born in Jo’s town, I was born there, I studied there, and then my cousin Ahmad S. Nuhu stayed in Mr. Ali Nuhu’s house.

South Horses LGA, in Gravel. After I became a citizen of Kano, I started to teach ‘light’ under Malam Yakubu, then I returned to the late Umar Gotip, and from there I became an ogan myself, continuing my life.

Then I became interested in acting, and then I became a producer and started my film called ‘Akhee’, Ajo, Faraga, Sai Na Ga Ali, Kwamachala, Zafin Nema, Kifil Kwallin Mata, Bakauye, there are three that I have forgotten.

If I understand you, you want to say that you are related to Ali Nuhu and Ahmad S. Nuhu from the family side, or what is the issue?

Yes! I have him, Ahmad S. Nuhu, from our same neighborhood, and there is a marriage between us and them. I ate at his house and drank, and then we got dressed.

What kind of role do you play in the Kannywood industry, after emerging as an actor and producing the movie you are doing now?

There is no role that I am not playing, I am ‘Light Man’ and Akto.

How many years have you been in the industry?

I am about 25 years old since I started in 1998.

Regarding your parents, when you first told them that you are interested in starting a film business, did you get any challenges from them or not?

No, I didn’t have a problem; they wished me well, but only my friends, when they see me, you hear them call me Akto.

Besides the films you have produced yourself, can you remember how many films you have appeared in?

I indeed made a film that will reach 200.

Zubaida of the company ‘FKD PRODUCTION’, was the first and the one who produced me, is known to the world.

Which role did you play in the film, and how did you feel at the time, especially when you were just starting?

One day, Ahmad S. Nuhu came to buy Abida Mohammed ‘Prem’ as a ‘gift’. When we were going to be put on the ‘camera’, I felt in front of me he fell very much because I was not used to it.

Are there any challenges you have faced in the industry?

Honestly, I got it, since I went to jail for my film that I produced called FARAGA, it was the 5 heroes who went to jail, there were Mansoor Saddik, Falalu Dorayi, Jibrin S. Fagge, and I. Then Tijjani Asase.

What caused this to happen?

I went to ‘shooting’ and I asked a friend of mine to find me a house where I could work, he said, “Well”, is there a place where he can find me? where the work will be done, he spoke to a guard and he gave us ‘Guess Hause’ and we will work, then the owner of the house said that Pijo was stolen from him with 10 million, he was bad for us because he asked for a month the actress refused to believe him and he was the one who calmed down on us.
