Manchester United Manager proves a line and boundaries coded by the association for player ethics and so. Right after the situational conflict of interest between the manager and the player in the previous game played at Old Trafford opposing Spurs, in which the star willingly refuse to take part in the match a few minutes close to stoppage time.

Erik Ten Hag considers the displayed attitude by the player as an offensive sentiment towards him and his players, he also said and did take action over the wrong deeds of the star by dissolving the star’s presence in the preceding match with Chelsea.

The Reds know that their potential path in the knockout stages depends on where they finish in the group stage as Real Sociedad currently occupies the pole position. Should United finish second, they will be placed in the same pot as the clubs who finish third in their respective Champions League standings.

Erik ten Hag’s side goes into Thursday’s clash on the back of their 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Casemiro’s superb header salvaged a point in the capital but the ongoing situation with Cristiano Ronaldo stole all the headlines pre and post-match after he was left in the cold by the Dutchman.

The Reds have been back on the training pitch, also uploading a clip of the session to their official site. Here are five things the Manchester Evening News spotted at open training at Carrington on Tuesday morning.

Even when the 37-year-old isn’t in the squad, he catches the headlines but this time, he was at the forefront of the conversation for his return to the fold.

Ten Hag took the bold decision to leave him out of Saturday’s squad following his refusal to come on during United’s 2-0 win over Tottenham in midweek.

But ahead of matchday five of the Europa League, he was back from training with the U21s and he was all smiling. Ronaldo was in a jovial mood in the pictures and footage released by Manchester United.

At one point during the rondo, he tried to fire through the legs of goalkeeper David de Gea which brought a beaming smile from Ronaldo.

There were plenty of smiles all around – not to mention some friendly competition from his teammates as they jostled with Ronaldo for the ball, perhaps showing the United squad have put the Tottenham incident behind them. Much of the focus will now turn to the build-up for Thursday and whether he will feature in the starting XI as he looks to go beyond 700 career goals.

Following the disappointing setback for Raphael Varane, Tuesday saw Harry Maguire return to team training. An injury during the recent international fixtures saw the defender sidelined for a number of weeks.

He has since returned at an important time for both his England and United selection chances. With an injury to Varane, he now moves up the pecking order with Victor Lindelof also vying for a spot.

Ahead of a busy period until the World Cup, Thursday could be the opportune moment for Maguire to have competitive minutes in his legs.

Meanwhile, there were returns for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Donny van de Beek.

Some questions have been raised over Darren Fletcher’s involvement, even prior to Ten Hag’s unveiling. But in training on Tuesday, he was on the training pitch and right in the thick of things.

As rondo continued, Fletcher can be seen barking orders with Luke Shaw and Tom Heaton in the frame.

Fletcher made almost 350 appearances for United as a player and now oversees the pathway players must take from the academy to the first team. He also oversees players United decides to send out on loan.

Lisandro Martinez has silenced his critics since he arrived in the Premier League in the summer. His tenacity has been infectious and has been at the forefront of United’s defensive stubbornness.

As well as bringing the fight on the pitch, he has brought it onto the training pitch as he flies around the rondos at full throttle.

In one instance, he dispossesses his defensive partner, Lindelof, as he scurries to put the Swede under pressure. Lindelof has his pass blocked before enjoying a friendly hug with the Argentine.

He still sets the example as he is seen at the front of the pile during the sprints.

Much has been made of David de Gea’s perceived inability to pass out from the back, but that hasn’t stopped the United goalkeeper from trying to adapt to Erik ten Hag’s preferred style of play.

And during Monday’s training session it was evident that De Gea is working hard to adapt. United boss Ten Hag previously held wrong-footed training sessions for some of his players – and De Gea looks to have been paying attention.
