In reaction to the raid, he suspended Booi and named Alderman James Vos as the acting Mayco member for Human Settlements.

The inquiry is in its early stages, but it could be serious and involves allegations of fraud and corruption, the mayor stated. According to the SAPS, further information cannot be released at this time.
