Born on November 24, 1983, Chukie Edozien is a Nigerian hip-hop recording artist and businessman better known by his stage name Lynxxx.
After releasing his first studio album, This is Lynxxx, in 2010, he went on to become the first Nigerian musician to receive an endorsement deal with the multinational company Pepsi. He created the genre known as Jollof Musik, which he defines as “an artful blend of music to create great music”4.

Lynxxx Early life
Chief John D. Edozien, a former deputy governor of the former Bendel State in Nigeria, is the father of Lynxxx, his only child. After completing his elementary school at Corona Primary School in Ikoyi, Lagos, he continued his secondary education at Kings College Lagos. He studied at the University of Hull in the United Kingdom and graduated with a degree in marketing, business, and economics.
Lynxxx Career
Lynxxx began his career as a recording artist in December 2009, following ten years of working behind the scenes in the music business. His first official single, “Change your Parade,” was created by Syndik8 partner and in-house producer “IKON.” Due to the song’s widespread radio broadcast and popularity in nightclubs, Lynxxx was able to establish a sizable internet fan base.
Lynxxx’s debut album, This Is Lynxxx, was released in December of 2010. A variety of musical styles, including modern R&B, funky house, and urban hip-hop, are featured on the album. This blending of numerous forms is referred to by Lynxxx as “Jollof Musik,” a term that describes the skill of combining several genres to create excellent music. Lynxxx became the first Nigerian musician to receive a Pepsi endorsement in that same year.
Lynxxx is not just a musician but also an entrepreneur. Prior to entering the music industry, he founded a number of prosperous companies. These included Syndik8 Denim, a clothing brand, Red Room Studio, a digital recording studio, Happy Teddy Media (HTM), and Syndik8 Films.
