Jonathan Drille grew up in Edo State, Nigeria. His father is a school principal and clergyman. There are four siblings for him. At a young age, Drille began to sing in his father’s church. He studied English and literature at the University of Benin in Benin City.

In a church, Drille started his musical career. In 2013, he participated in the sixth season of Project Fame West Africa.
