Asmee Wakili Biography

I’m Asma’u Abdullahi Wakili, but I go by Asmee Wakili in the entertainment industry. My family is Fulani, and I was born 25 years ago in Jos, Plateau State. Nonetheless, I attended Kaduna State for my elementary and secondary education.

I currently work as a model, actress, and brand ambassador for numerous companies. In addition, I have starred in numerous Hausa movies and music videos.

How come you seem to be in more music videos than movies?

I don’t think there are any distinctions between modeling and acting in music videos or movies. I’ve made appearances in just as many movies as there are music videos.

People may believe I have more music videos than films because they watch my music videos more frequently than my films.

It’s presumably because music videos are brief and frequently aired, but as I previously stated, acting is what I am known for, so showing up in movies or music videos is all part of that.

How did you start your acting career?

I was raised with a deep love and enthusiasm for the film industry. I joined when it was appropriate for me to do so. I began my acting career in Kannywood, and I have been in numerous Hausa motion pictures and music videos.

Like any other career, acting is a calling. My passion has always been acting, and I love what I do.

How did your parents feel when they learned that you were going into the film business?

It wasn’t at all simple. You are aware that some people have misgivings about women entering the film business because of inaccurate ideas and perceptions about female performers.

But because I’m a woman of Fulani descent, I was able to persuade my parents, and they were able to look past the presumptions.

In addition to giving their approval, they offered me guidance on how to behave in a way that would not violate my religious beliefs, customs, or values.

Do you recall your very first movie?

I can, indeed. The movie was titled “Sanda,” but sadly it was never released. Nevertheless, following that movie, I was chosen for another one in the Arewa24 TV series “Sirrin Boye,” which is how I got my start in the business. “Sirrin Boye” is my Kannywood smash, if I may say so.

It has been one role after another since that TV show. I am thankful to the industry for all that it has done for me. Among many other movies, I have starred in Amarya, Rabi, Fatima Bintu, Bazata, Akwai Allah, Yahoo Boy, and Yan Kwalta.

Additional music videos in which I have appeared are “Debbo,” “Abin ya motsa,” “Yar bel-bela,” “Idan so cutane,” “Yide,” “Sirrin Qalbi,” “Ina dake,” “Abar Qaunata,” “Kwash Kwash,” “Da Gaske Qaunarki Nake,” “Zokiji,” and several others.

Do you regret being an actress in any way?

None at all; I’ve always worked as an actor, and I enjoy it. Recall that I am grateful for my parents’ blessings and that I am heeding their counsel.

Which of your acting moments is the happiest for you?

As an actress, I have experienced a great deal. I’ve had a lot of good times, but visiting Saudi Arabia was the happiest.

This would always be recorded in my books on special occasions. Thanks to the industry, I have also taken vacations or gone to film locations in other countries.

What would you say about your relationships with other celebrities in the Industry?

It has been incredibly amazing and motivating. As I mentioned before, I am only two years old in the profession, yet despite this, you can tell that I have been accepted and treated like I have been in it my entire life.

My coworkers have been supportive and kind to us; they provide us with advice and guidance.

My industry success can be ascribed to the kind reception I got from my peers. As a result, as a family, we treat one another with decency and humility.

How come you don’t appear as much on social media?

Asma’u is an actress rather than a social media celebrity. I dislike getting entangled in matters unrelated to my acting profession.

My profession is acting, and I’m an aspiring actress. Some may believe that I’m being crafty or cautious, but the truth is that social media has never allowed me to showcase my abilities or anything else; I’m an actress, that’s all.

Have you ever been made fun of for a part you did in a movie?

No, instead of being made fun of, I’ve received appreciation for the parts I’ve played. Before accepting a position, I read over the screenplays. Maybe for that reason, I was able to move throughout the sector with minimal difficulty.

Most of my parts have received positive feedback, and since I value honest criticism, I often declare that I have no enemies in the acting world.

Does Asma’u have a partner?

I enjoy my privacy and dislike talking about my personal life in public, so let’s avoid talking about it for the time being.

What message would you like to give your fans?

They are the reason I adore them and am so grateful for their support of me as an actress. I would like to take this time to let them know that they may expect more from me and that I will always be grateful for everything. They ought to realize that we wouldn’t exist without them.
