Based on Vancouver Island, Caroline Cecil is a Canadian DJ and record producer better known by her stage name, WHIPPED CREAM. Right now, Big Beat Records is her record label. August 2020 saw the Big Beat release of her major label debut EP.
Whipped Cream Early life and education
The birthplace of Caroline Cecil is Toronto, Ontario. Later, she and her family relocated to Nanaimo, a suburb of Vancouver Island. At the age of two, she started ice skating, and by the time she was seven, she was taking professional figure skating classes. She started figure skating competitively at the age of eight, and she competed in figure skating contests for a large portion of her childhood while traveling across Canada and the US. Her desire to join the Canadian Olympic squad was sparked by her performance in these competitions.
Cecil, however, fractured her ankle severely when practicing triple toe loops when she was eighteen. Due to the accident, she needed surgery, which included having six pins and a metal plate inserted into her ankle. She chose to pursue a career in music instead of figure skating, even though she was able to recover. Cecil attended Woodlands Secondary School in Nanaimo and graduated.

Whipped Cream Career
When Cecil went to the Sasquatch! Music Festival in 2012, she saw Active Child perform, which inspired her to write her own songs. Over the course of the following two years, she learned how to produce tracks using Ableton Live and a Traktor controller. In 2014, she released her debut single under the name Whipped Cream. She signed with Unspeakable Records and released her debut EP, Law of Attraction, in 2015. In addition, she performed for the first time at the Shambhala Music Festival in Salmo, British Columbia.
She made multiple track premieres on Skrillex’s Nest HQ platform in 2016. Whipped Cream and Hekler collaborated on an EP titled Mirrors, which was released in early 2017. She had performances at a number of events in 2017, such as Hardfest and Life in Color. She released her solo EP, Persistence, through Nest HQ in September of that year. “Ignorant,” the collection’s first hit, has received over 7 million Spotify plays.
She put out a few songs in 2018, such as “LUV” via Big Beat Records and “Blood” via Deadbeats. She then followed up with two early 2019 releases—”You Wanted It”[8] and “Time” (with DeathbyRomy)—on Diplo’s Mad Decent label. In 2019, Whipped Cream returned to music festivals, performing at Bonnaroo, Ultra, Lollapalooza, and Electric Daisy Carnival, among others.[10] It was revealed that Whipped Cream had joined with the Atlantic label Big Beat Records in November of that year. She also made available the song “Told Ya” with Lil Xan.
Her song “So Thick” with Baby Goth was featured on the Birds of Prey album in February 2020.(Source: ) Later that year, she released a number of other songs, such as “I Do The Most” (featuring Lil Keed), “DUMB SH!T” (containing Jasiah), and “I Won’t Let You Fall” (with Finn Askew).
These tracks would later be included on Who Is Whipped Cream? (stylized in all capitals), Whipped Cream’s debut major label EP, which Big Beat and Atlantic released in August 2020. She first released her Monstercat Debut EP, You Can Count On, in March 2023. Her remixes of CRY and Rewind.. (But I Love You) by Borgore, Hayve, and GRAVEDGR were included in the Someone You Can Count On (The Remixes) EP, which was released in July of the same year.

Who Is Whipped Cream?
Cecil, who was raised in Nanaimo, British Columbia, and was born in Toronto, had a childhood interest in competitive figure skating until an ankle injury interrupted her dreams. When she was nineteen, she went to a music festival, and that’s when she started making music and DJing. In 2015, she released her debut EP as Whipped Cream, Law of Attraction, inspired by producers of EDM and bass music such as Nero, Baauer, Zeds Dead, and others. Cecil’s career took a sudden turn around after her closing performance at the Shambhala festival that year, with her schedule filling up quickly.
Skrillex’s Nest label released Whipped Cream’s Persistence EP in 2017, which included the rebellious song “Ignorant,” after the artist collaborated with Hekler on an EP called Mirrors. Singles on Dim Mak (“Gray,” featuring KTRL), Deadbeats (“Blood”), Big Beat (“Bad for Me,” “Luv”), and others followed in the next year. “You Wanted It” and “Time” both surfaced on Mad Decent in 2019, following Cecil’s move to Los Angeles. Additionally, Whipped Cream’s remix of Zhu’s “Desert Woman” was made available.
In November 2019, Cecil signed with Big Beat Records, an Atlantic label. The following year, she released her EP Who Is Whipped Cream? with Lil Xan and Finn Askew as special guests. Along with Baby Goth, she contributed the song “So Thick” to the Birds of Prey soundtrack, a superhero movie. In 2021, “Light of Mine,” a joint project with Jimorrow, was released. Moore Kismet, UNiiQU3, Big Freedia, and Whipped Cream collaborated on the 2022 song “Hold Up.”
