Motha was born and reared in Mpumalanga, but he later moved to Pretoria with his family. He started his musical career in 2009. He signed with Tyrique de Bruyne, and Bestbyfar Records published his debut album Avenuee Sound in 2016. Kabza founded PianoHub, his own record label. In 2018, the South African singer Leehleza featured in his breakout hit “Umshove” was published. He and DJ Maphorisa released Piano Hub on October 1, 2019.
