Jim Gaffigan Biography
James Christopher Gaffigan is an American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and producer who was born on July 7, 1966. As part of the graduation ceremony, they both earned honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degrees.
Gaffigan issued an online apology in 2019 after supporting the “Moriori First” myth during one of his stand-up performances. The myth, which asserts falsely that Mori ousted the Moriori as New Zealand’s original inhabitants, has been used to defend European settler colonialism. Additionally, Gaffigan made remarks that were deemed “offensive” and “ignorant” on New Zealand social media concerning the Mori people.
