Cesc Fàbregas Joins Serie B Side Como on Free Transfer
Veteran Spanish midfielder Fàbregas, 35, has officially signed a two-year deal with Serie B club Como 1907 on a free transfer.
The unexpected move caught fans by surprise, as Fàbregas kept the deal under wraps until after it was finalized.
The former Arsenal, Barcelona, and Chelsea star has now begun a new chapter in Italy’s second tier, bringing with him a wealth of experience and silverware.
In his official statement, Fàbregas expressed his excitement:
“It is an honor and a pleasure to join Como 1907. I’ve been extremely fortunate to play at wonderful clubs Como is no exception. After lengthy talks with Mirwan, Dennis, and Charlie, they laid out an ambitious football project that I truly believe in. That’s why I’m also investing personally, on and off the pitch.”
“I can’t wait to play in front of the fans in such a beautiful setting. The club’s vision to rise to Serie A is inspiring. I’m proud to be part of this journey.”
Como’s leadership also emphasized Fàbregas’ pivotal role in their long-term ambitions. The club is aiming to reach Serie A within three years, and his signing marks a critical milestone in that project.

A Stylish New Chapter With Purpose
Beyond football, Como 1907 is taking a unique approach to sustainability and community support.
Teaming up with fashion designer Didit Hediprasetyo, the club has designed kits whose sales will fund restoration projects across Como.
The initiative includes a plan to make kits last up to five years, breaking the cycle of yearly merchandise updates.
Club representative Marwan Suwarso explained:
“We’re building a club with deep community ties. Football kits can be expensive, especially for families. We want our merchandise to benefit both fans and the city. This is a small but meaningful step toward a lasting relationship with our local community.”
Fàbregas | A Proven Champion
With 13 major trophies under his belt, including Premier League, La Liga, FA Cup, and Europa League titles, Fàbregas arrives as a seasoned playmaker.
On the international stage, he earned 110 caps for Spain, winning two European Championships and the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
