Insurgents Attacked Army Troops, Killed Five Soldiers And Two Officers In Borno

Insurgents attacked and killed Two officers and Five soldiers of Operation Hadin Kai Troops in kala balge, Borno state.

As disclosed on Saturday by the Army spokesman Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, other operatives of the Joint Task Force(JTF) were also injured but currently recieving medical care.

He sated that: “Regrettably, two officers and five soldiers paid the supreme price, while three personnel who sustained gunshot wounds are currently receiving medical attention”.

He added, revealing that the insurgents came on gun trucks and bikes.

The troops deployed at the Forward Operational Base (FOB) Rann of the border between Nigeria and Cameroun were attacked by the terrorist. Adding “Troops gallantly engaged the marauding terrorists with superior firepower, forcing them to abandon their mission and withdraw in disarray”

“In the fierce battle for Kala Balge, troops defended the town and neutralized 26 BH/ISWAP terrorists”

Vehicles, riffles and heavy ammunation with many other equipement was seized out of the terrorist possession.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya condoles and paid tribute to the fallen hearoes for their sacrifice, he also commend the troops for their strongholdiness.
