G Fresh, Al’Ameen: Our musical bond has lasted as long as I can remember. Our albums “Forget Your Enemies,” which came out a few years ago, and “No Pain, No Gain,” which is currently available, are both doing well in the market.

G. Fresh Al’Ameen: The phrase “Siyasar Kano” relates to Kano politics. We invited several musicians, including Hamisu Breaker, to sing about Kano politics. We have nearly completed the song, which is also a peace song.
Labaranyau.com: Could you tell us about your experience in Lagos?
G Fresh Al’Ameen: On behalf of our group, I traveled to Lagos State and spent approximately five months attempting to sell my CDs and get a potential record deal by visiting numerous streets and sites in Lagos, including Apapa, Lekki, Shoprite, and many more.
One of the challenges I faced in Lagos was meeting MI Abaga in Chocolate City. He agreed to assist me during a session, but Teddy, a producer in Chocolate City, refused to record me for unknown reasons.
In reality, Nigeria is a prominent player in the entertainment sector today, with Lagos functioning as a hub thanks to an influx of tourists from other African countries as well as select British acts.
My residence is in Kano state. Kano’s musical standards differ from those of Lagos.
Labaranyau.com: Would you return to Lagos?
G Fresh Al’Ameen: To inform MI that the recording session was unsuccessful, I believe I still need to return to Lagos and speak with him.
Labaranyau.com: Have you given up on breaking into Lagos’ entertainment industry?
G Fresh Al’Ameen: Although we are unable to bring Kano to Lagos right now, I am convinced that Lagos will eventually come to Kano because Kano is a talent hub.
It is only a matter of time. We are currently focused on arranging our affairs and believe me when I say that the North is currently dominating the hip-hop scene and will continue to do so as long as more brilliant individuals emerge.
Labaranyau.com: Do you believe hip-hop in the north is getting the recognition it deserves?
G Fresh Al’Ameen: Although hip-hop is growing rapidly in the north, our businessmen and women must invest in the industry.
Strong northern investor intervention is required for northern hip-hop artists.
Along with the artists, we have a market and admirers.
When you compare us to other hip-hop artists across the country, you’ll notice that they have the support of both their fans and huge investors who are making lucrative investments in them.
Labaranyau.com: How would you rank Nigeria’s entertainment sector?
GFresh Al’Ameen: R&B is swiftly expanding, but no one expected Kano State to generate something this good.
Labaranyau.com: What steps do you believe should be implemented to improve Kano’s industry?
G Fresh Al’Ameen: We must plan events that include performances or other activities geared toward promoting the entertainment industry.
For example, when the Kano Pillars are set to play a crucial game. But, since investing is everything, I believe moving to Lagos is the greatest alternative.
Labaranyau.com: In your opinion, what efforts should be taken to improve the northern music industry?
G Fresh Al’Ameen: In addition to preparing concerts, we must take advantage of available technologies, particularly the trend toward streaming.
These require large financial resources, but they pay off handsomely, which is why we continue to advocate for investor participation.
Labaranyau.com: Do you think the expression “no pain, no gain” applies to your personal experience?
G. Fresh Al’Ameen: Exactly. Our life experiences are extremely important. What we’ve been through and experienced while living on the streets.
I once met a successful producer who collaborated with Wizkid and Flavour. His name is Mastercraft.
When I met with his manager, he urged me to pay a studio session charge of 700,000 naira to work with Mastercraft.
Regretfully, I was unable to pay that amount. I know that if I worked with a producer like Mastercraft on just one song, all of my problems would be solved, but that wasn’t the case.
Labaranyau.com: Did your northern origins play a role in your unfortunate situation?
G Fresh, Al’Ameen: People will regard you with contempt no matter where you go if you do not have support from your community. I
If I were from Port Harcourt, I could put on a show for over a thousand people, and most of them would agree that he is talented.
However, we do not have such a privilege here in Kano. This demonstrates how simple it is. We need to become well-known in Lagos, where it is considered that an African artist does not exist.
Labaranyau.com: What are some of the most bitter incidents in your musical career so far?
G Fresh, Al’Ameen: We’ve been in our fair share of bad situations.
This was the basis for the album “No Pain, No Gain.” It covers these interactions and what we went through, especially while living on the streets.
Despite everything, we decided not to give up because we feel this is what we can achieve with our lives.

G Fresh Al’Ameen: As long as hip-hop obtains the required support from the local business community and people, it will quickly dominate the whole entertainment industry.

G Fresh Al’Ameen: I don’t have to give up in the face of all the challenges because I know I am capable of overcoming them.
Because of the occasional difficulties, I am unable to change it at this time. My music addiction began when I was seven years old.
As I approach thirty, I continue to practice music. As you can see, it’s been a difficult trip, but I won’t give up because I believe there is still hope.
