Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo ESQ is Nigeria’s Senior Advocate and was appointed Attorney General and Minister of Justice in April 2010.
He has previously worked for the Kwara State School Management Board, the Kano State Ministry of Justice, and private law firms. He has played a key role in advocating for election reform.

Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo ESQ was born on January 1, 1966, in Sabon Garin Dole, Goronyo Local Government Area, Sokoto State.
Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo ESQ Education
From 1975 to 1981, he attended Kofar Marke Primary School in Sokoto, now known as Alhaji Alhaji Model Primary School. From 1981 to 1986, he received his secondary school diploma from Government College in Sokoto, which is now known as Niagara College in Sokoto.
In 1990, he earned a diploma in law from the College of Art and Science in Sokoto. He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Usman Danfodio University in Sokoto in 1997. In 2001, the Nigerian Law School Bwari called him to the Nigerian Bar in Abuja.
Additionally, he has a master’s degree in philosophy in leadership and strategic studies from Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna; a master’s degree in business management and leadership from London Graduate School, UK; and a master’s degree in energy security management from Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna.

Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo ESQ was a two-term member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, serving as the Goronyo Constituency’s representative from 2007 to 2015. He held the positions of Deputy Speaker, Minority Leader, and Deputy Leader.
Later, from 2015 to 2018, he was appointed as a Commissioner in the Sokoto State government, serving in the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Energy Development, and the Ministry of Solid Minerals.
Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo ESQ is a party man who has held a number of important party posts, including Director of National Youth Mobilization for the Asiwaju/Shettima 2023 APC Presidential Campaign Council North West Zone and Zonal Secretary All Progressive Congress (APC) North West.
